Police Memorial Week

One day each year, the names of all of the police officers who died in the line of duty in the United States are memorialized on a wall in Washington, D.C.
It is part of a week long celebration of the service of police officers But what about the other fifty-one weeks of the year? These are people who come to our aid in our time of need, and are willing to give their lives in service to their community.
A significant portion of the public are supportive of their law enforcement that they see driving up and down the streets of their community on a regular basis. Most people’s only contact with a law enforcement officer is when they commit a traffic violation. The same people stand along a street waving an American flag or with their hand over their heart as the procession of a slain police officer passes. It is a minority of misguided people who scream and protest that police departments should be defunded. The silent majority needs to be heard as loudly as the people who advocate chaos and mayhem.
Bad cops should be weeded out. Cops who are guilty of criminal activity should be prosecuted and incarcerated. Support for the police should be a 365 day activity.
