Just another day

It was just another mundane event that law enforcement performs on a daily basis until shots rang out at a Trump rally. The response of law enforcement was immediate and professional as each portion knew exactly what their role was and executed it with precision.
Secret Service smothered the former President while tactical officers jumped into position to protect the perimeter. All of the personnel then moved as a unit to escort Mr. Trump to his vehicle and move him from the line of fire. The shooter was neutralized by Secret Service a counter-sniper.
The pundits blamed the Secret Service for failing to extend the security perimeter, showing their absolute ignorance. A .556 bullet is accurate to over 1,000 yards, which translates to over one-half of a mile. That distance surrounding the event would create an area that is impossible to cover adequately, not to mention the disruption to the people who live, work and play in that area.
A secondary criticism was that an officer who went onto the roof where the shooter was positioned, and retreated when the suspect pointed the rifle at him. Without knowing what the officer saw that claim is pure foible. It is likely that the officer was only armed with a handgun which is no match for a tactical rifle.
This event only further solidifies the fact that American law enforcement training is the best in the world. Like other major events, it will be dissected to learn what was done. A “knee jerk” response.
